If you have not had a chance to read Kiyosaki’s books, I suggest you start yesterday.

In “Why We Want You to Be Rich” Kiyosaki and Trump reveal the incredible peace of fact. They both say that if they were starting in business today from the beginning, they would be starting in network marketing.

Now that is an incredible statement. The book reveals many things that are critical to success in business and financial arena, but one of the most famous things from that book is Kiyosaki’s CashFlow Quadrant.

The CashFlow Quadrant points out little known but important difference between being ‘self-employed’ and being a ‘business owner’.

If you own your own business, but YOU have to go to work every day, because you are the one making sales, and you are the one with the specialized knowledge, and if you don’t show up that day and do your thing, the money will stop pouring in, than, my friend, you don’t really own the business. The business owns you.

On the other hand, if you own the business which is set up on systems which may or may not include workforce of some kind, and you can actually not show up to work and the work would not miss a beat. The people are still being serviced, the deals are still being closed, the money is still being deposited into your bank account…That is the sound of a well run oiled machine. And you are a true business owner.

Now it is important to make a note that when you’re starting out in a business, it is natural to be ‘owned’ by your business. Two immediate main goals should be to build the client base and be able to service the same, but the long term goal of every small business should be to get systems in place and get automated enough to be able to sustain itself without your constant presence.

Many network marketers fall pray of these marketing companies which proclaim that you can build your business and get rich off purely automated marketing system. Don’t believe it.

We can automate a lot these days with technology to leverage our time and resources, but the final success is built on strong foundation of relationships and networking. The prospects need to perceive you as a value to them and their future. The network marketing business is very much a sales business and the sales are made when people get to trust you and respect you as an expert in your field.

Some things will never change and the fact that this is still a people business won’t either.

Mention this to someone who’s ‘tried’ these sites and they will tell you that if you’re thinking you can sell something off those pages you’re wasting your time. 

Well…In sense they might be right, but that is not what these pages are used for by the top internet marketers. There is a secret to it. 

If you know anything about real estate you know that the rule #1 is Location, Location, Location.

Well, Squidoo, HubPages and several other ones like those ARE PRIME real estate locations on Web 2.0. (I will give you several new pieces of Web 2.0 real estate that most of the new internet marketers don’t know about yet, but keep reading…) 

These pages are NOT the places to sell your product and collect money off of it. They make you money indirectly. 

Top marketers use these prime Web 2.0 locations as traffic generators. Those are usually review or article type of written or video posts. If you decide to do them, make sure they have valuable content for your readers. 

From there they are directed to their blogs, squeeze pages and whatever else might be used to begin the sales funnel. That’s where leads get sold – along the way. 

Because they rank many times higher than YouTube, they are becoming one of the most coveted Web 2.0 tools of top network marketers. Imagine having several of these traffic generating locations on page #1 of Google??? Keep in mind – they are FREE.

There are lots of schemes out there in ANY type of business. You may think it might be easier to do it online these days because you can hide behind it – but for how long?

Just like it’s easy to hide, it’s easy for anybody to post anything on the internet today good and bad, so use common sense.

So what is a pyramid scheme? Pyramid scheme per Wikipedia is:

A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business model that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, often without any product or service being delivered. 

It also says:

However, most multi-level marketing businesses are not pyramid schemes.

So if we have a product and or service being exchanged for the money that floats around – it’s not illegal any more, and as far as pyramid shape…

As startling as it might be to some Pyramid is also your place of work, any company with more than 1 employee: i.e. you have a 

President
CEO, VPs 
Regional VPs
Reg Management
Local Management
And YOU on the bottom

At least that’s how it was when you started your career many moons ago. The biggest question is: 

IF you tried hard, and worked smart, could you EVER pass up the CEO or President and make more than them? 

I sincerely doubt it. Just try it! (which one looks more like a scheme now?)

The remarkable thing is that with the right MLM/Network Marketing company YOU CAN.

Yes, even if you don’t start on top, and you do the right things, you can surpass your sponsor in $$ made – now that is what I call the sweet form of capitalism. 

So if you ask me, I would choose MLM pyramid (NOT pyramid scheme …) over J.O.B. pyramid ANY day or night.

As you know the social media is like a fast moving train: starts off slowly, but once in motion, hard to stop it. New people are literally pouring in to join but they very easily crash and burn.

Just because you are on there, it does not guarantee you results. And just because you tweet with peeps all they long, that does not guarantee you results either, yet all this eats your time like Bermuda Triangle. So how do you make sure you make your time on Twitter productive?

Easy, you just follow few proven steps:

1) In order for you to have any value to your followers, you have to give value to your followers.

2) Do not “puke” about your MLM, or whatever biz opportunity on people you just met. It does not work in real life; it does not work in your virtual life.

3) You have to have and show genuine interest in helping your peeps grow and learn, and provide content accordingly before they will be truly open minded to hearing about your business (that’s how you create value)

4) Twitter is the place where “my-story” (your-story) needs to come alive and be evident through your posts. Show the world through your interaction what your true colors are: what your interests are, what you are looking for, what your views are, what your business is like, what your true value to the marketplace is, etc.

5) Check your Updates tabs periodically and make sure that you’re providing good content. If your last 15-20 posts are “Thank you”, “Thanks for follow”, “Nice to meet you” – know you’re headed to Twitter Valley of death – alone. The followers will stop following you.

7) You can set up thank you message to be sent out automatically to all your new follower at http://www.tweetlater.com

Periodically you can delete those peeps who decided not to follow you at http://friendorfollow.com/. The ratio between the peeps you follow and peeps who follow you will affect your twitter rating

9) Learn who the best Twitterers are and how they do it by visiting http://twitterholic.com/

10) Use http://Ping.fm and shoot your status updates to multiple social networks at once – still same work, tens times more exposure.

Bonus:
11) Set the time limit for how long you will stay on Twitter, before you get on with your TODO list – or you may get surprised with your day gone bye-bye too fast.

I’m sure you have heard of this phrase before: Quitters Never Win, and Winners Never Quit. But what if you had a good reason to quit network marketing and what constitutes a good reason in the first place?

Well, the answer might be lot simpler than you think.

When you join network marketing revolution you will experience these things no matter what:

• Your family and friends, chances are, will not understand you or support you (your network marketing/MLM venture)
• You will run into people you know who will very passionately tell you “IT WILL NEVER WORK”, in 37 different ways
• You will try marketing things that will flop
• Actually, 90% of your marketing will flop
• You will blow your marketing budget at some point
• You will read things, dismiss them, come back to them 6 mos later, and slapping yourself on the head go: “How come I did not see it???”
• You will browse the internet and see that someone has already started the idea you’ve been thinking of
• You will argue with you spouse or significant other because of some aspect of the biz
• You will forget to do something or about someone in your personal life
• It will affect your personal life in many ways
• At some point in time after hanging out with network marketing super gurus for a wile you will feel like they are million miles and million dollars ahead and that you will never reach them
• There are going to be days that you will feel like you’re all out of ideas
• There are going to be days when you will feel like you can’t bounce the idea you have off of anybody you know
• There is going to be A DAY when you will feel completely cornered and nowhere else to go – so you will want to quit. 

That is the day to remember. Because if you’ve hit the rock bottom and there is nowhere else to go, than you my friend, make a decision to go up.

As I mentioned earlier, the answer is simpler than you think, and here it is: There is NO GOOD REASON TO QUIT. The only thing you can quit is quitting. If you quit on your dreams, you may as well pack up, go home, and hide under the rock for the rest of your days. Nice role model for your kids and grandkids…

Yes, it’s true. Some days are tougher then the rest, but the days that are good are so good that will make it all worth while and then some. And if you think about the list above from a bit different angle, most of them will show up in your life with just having a JOB as well. So why not endure the same thing anyway, put another drip of sweat into the play, and call it your empire for generations to come?
