YouTube Slap Again???

As of this morning my YouTube account has been shut down….I have found some people noting that this slap started within last 24 hours.

I have been in touch with few top dawgs in the industry and not that their accounts have been shut down too, but they’re getting bombarded with emails from marketers all over the place getting shut down on YouTube.

What will be next?????

I will be keeping you posted on what your options are if your account gets shut down, till then…relax, enjoy, and know that this will only bring about new ideas on “conquering Google – the mighty beast”! :-)

Oh, and if  you have any questions about why your account got shut down, or how you can “avoid” getting shut down, feel free to enjoy reading this nice set of guidelines that YouTube reserves the right to change anytime for any reason to anything they wish and NOT inform you about it.

Any experience with YouTube slap of your own you’d like us to know about? Tell us what you really think about Google/YouTube…  ;-)

More then just few times a month, I get asked from my readers the same question: “I have a super cool product, can you help me market it?”

What is wrong with this picture?

If their audience is asking for that product – nothing, but… that is not how most marketers try to operate. Most people fail this whole marketing game when promoting their own products because they approach it from the wrong angle.

Most people want to market the product THEY have in mind, not the product prospects have in mind.

They tend to follow the logic of:

Plan A

  1. create a product
  2. find leads
  3. convert them into sales

This is not a bad plan in and out of itself, but it will require a lot more work then plan B.

Plan B

  1. have leads tell you exactly what they want
  2. create a product
  3. let them convert themselves

The Plan A is an upstream battle. But if you have a strategy to keep a pulse on your audience and you know what is it they want to buy, what keeps them awake at night and you create a product to solve that problem…now your game gets to be lot easier and lot more profitable.

The trick to all this is, yes, you guessed it, how do you have the leads tell you exactly what they want and how they want to be sold?

The only way to get into your prospect’s head is to have a relationship with that prospect, and then all you need to do is simply ASK. Yes, it’s that simple.

Don’t underestimate the potential value of your list. If you have a site and you’re not collecting names and using it to build your list, it’s time to get after it….immediately.

Sponsored Review: DomainApraisal.org

Whether you have a domain name that you’re not excited about keeping up any more or you’re beating your head against the wall on what domain to choose for your new shiny site, there is a one thing you might consider first: Domain Appraisal.

Recently through ReviewMe.com I was offered an opportunity to review DomainApraisal.org. After checking them out, I could see that lot of my readers might find it helpful to learn about them, since I get bombarded with domain questions all the time….

At DomainAppraisal.org, they provide accurate domain name values for buying, selling, and tax purposes. All their domain appraisals are independent and automation free. But their website also offers lots of good resources for people thinking about buying or selling a specific domain.

Apparently there’s more to it then it meets the eye. Here are

Top 4 bad things that can befall you if you make a mistake with your domain name:

  1. you might not profit from the full advertising, marketing, or traffic potential of a domain
  2. you might have legal trouble
  3. you might underestimate your asset value on your tax returns
  4. you might not cash it in for all it’s worth

and you can find more about those at http://www.domainappraisal.org/blogs/.

Their appraisal packages start from $7.99, they offer 24-hour turnaround, AND they guarantee their work, but the interesting thing about them is their appraisals are not done by machines.

Believe it or not, there is actually a specific set of rules form the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) they have to adhere to during their appraisal process.

So, behind that website there is a group of expert appraisers, using some sci-fi tools that really get into nitty-gritty of not only a current situation of the domain name but also current trends that affect its value. They also compare them to previously sold domains in the same or similar niche. So in many ways, it’s like getting an appraisal done on the home you’re about to purchase or sell.

Here are few more things you should also know about DomainApraisal.org:

  • Domain appraisals trusted by the IRS
  • Our business is BBB accredited
  • 100% Money Back Guarantee
  • Priority service available (24-hour turnaround)
  • Unbiased appraisal company
  • All appraisals completed by multiple industry experts
  • No automation is involved in the appraisal process

…and their Mission: “We work very hard to provide our customers with as much insight and understanding about our methodology as possible and to create a new standard for the domain name appraisal industry.”

P.S. and if you’ve ever received one of those emails about somebody wanting to purchase your domain name for mega bucks, and you got weak in your knees just to find out later it was all a scam, wouldn’t it be nice if you had known from the start what your domain was really worth and if you did want to sell it to know exactly where you’d need to go? ;-)

Do you have any good or bad experience with having a domain appraised?

How to Back Up Your Twitter Account

This morning I saw the email I received from Twitter last night and it made my blood freeze instantaneously.

“Due to concern that your account may have been compromised in a phishing attack that took place off-Twitter, your password was reset. Please create a new password by opening this link in your browser….”

It was followed by bunch of “check this” and “make sure this” and even though it was pretty cool from Twitter that they sent this email with helpful instructions, the whole idea of waking up one morning and my Twitter account along with my Twitter friends and my tweets being gone, makes me nervous enough to do something about it.

What was also interesting was that few days ago I ran across the article about making a Twitter backup. Never really ran across anything like that before, so made a note of it but never went back to it. This morning, I was digging through my paperwork looking for the link..lol..

Anyhow, I’ve been reading up on it, and here are few things you should definitely know about preserving your precious Twitter real estate”

Brian Fanale "The Internet Rockstar" & I

I don’t care how many times you heard the pitches about all the automated sales and marketing, and promises you can stay at home 24/7 never picking up a phone and making all the money you want…

The truth is yes, that works, to the point and not a far one either.

If you’re in networking marketing then you must have noticed word “networking” in there, right?

You can’t be successful in network marketing and not network. Even when you feel like you don’t have anything to say, you don’t know what to say to people you’ve never spoken before.

Some of the most rewarding relationships I created sparked in the least expected places and times, mostly when I did not even want to make it to the event.

Keep in mind that your success will not only depend on the prospects you find and bring to your site, but also the advice and joint ventures you will create with people who are already successful in your niche.

Don’t underestimate the power of networking and don’t underestimate the power of eye-to-eye contact.

So next time there is an event you can attend:

  • be prepared to go
  • make sure you’re feeling your best
  • make sure you have a plan for networking
  • and make sure you GO

No matter how much I sometimes did not want to go to an event, I somehow always managed to walk away with meeting new incredible people. You will too.

Now, this past Saturday I went to the event I was looking forward to for while and I spent the day in the company of some of the most incredible people on the planet during WMI Birthday Bash like Mike Dillard, Jay Kubassek, Todd Falcone, Elaine Love, and many others….

I was especially very glad I had a chance to hang with Brian Fanale – The Internet Rockstar and get to meet his brother Jim in person as well, – not sure why Jim did not end up in the picture with us. We’re going to have to fix that next time! ;-)

Don’t let a great event pass you buy. These guys are not only there for themselves, they are also there for you. They are approachable and they will talk to you, so make sure you seize that opportunity.

After all, isn’t that what you’ve been hoping to get the whole time: a great opportunity?

P.S. By the way, not only that Brian and Jim are a great internet marketing team, but they are also good together in a band. They recently opened a concert for Shinedown.

P.P.S. Tell Brian, Aleksandra sent you ;-)
