Have you noticed the new look of Google’s search results pages? Quite cleaned up, I must say.
Google’s official blog says: “While we are constantly rolling out small changes and updates, today’s changes showcase the latest evolutions in our search technology, making it easier than ever to find exactly what you’re looking for.”
The new Google look, with simple left-hand navigation.
So how is it really different and how will affect the searches?
New shiny left hand panel builds upon the universal search offered before. With its “Everything” feature, it still list most relevant searches for the keywords entered, and it combines all the results together. The new panel, gives you an ability to view those results in different media formats. Just images, or just books, or just blogs, etc….
“Something Different” feature allows you to see thing closely related to what you searched originally. That kind of reminds me of the YoutTube feature for related videos.
The look and feel, the color template and the logo itself have all been gently touched up to make the look keep up with today’s style. As Google puts it: “These changes are slight, keeping our page minimalist and whimsical, but make our overall look more modern.”
