2 Easy Steps for Building a Better Blog
One of the biggest mistakes people make with their blogs is that they do not have them optimized for social media.
With all the craze in the business world today around social media platforms, it’s no surprise to see more and more business cards and big corporate ads with social media icons on them – it’s because the social media platforms do produce results.
But it seems that there are still tons of blogs on the internet not utilizing what powerful marketing strategies today’s technology offers us.
Here are two major ways to optimize your blog for social media
1) make sure your audience has a way of sharing your content with the rest of the world. Definitely include the Twitter and Facebook links. If you’re into bookmarking add them as well.
2) Do add the favicons with the links to your profiles. I searched for an easy one for a while and just did not have much luck, until I stumbled upon Jeremy Anticouni’s blog. I was thoroughly impressed with the ease, simplicity, and elegance of his WP plugin for favicons. It took me less then a minute to get it running and I really like it.
No, Jeremy’s plugin is not the only one out there, but I found it works great for my blog.
If you’re already putting the time and effort in building your blog, make sure your audience gets a chance to share their excitement of reading your blog with the rest of the world.
What is your opinion on connecting blogs with social media platforms?

Hey Aleksandra,
Your blog is looking really great! I agree with adding social media favi cons to blogs. I also think it can be done with over kill as well.
Imagine if everyone went around putting all this MySpace stuff on their blogs only to find out shortly thereafter that everyone split and jumped over to Facebook?
In short it is good to let visitors bookmark your site and find you in other places, just be sure to make sure that there is a balance.
One of the things I learned from one of my mentors Diane Hochman is this- People are curious, they will find you if they are interested in you.
The lesson being you can have the best social media pages, blogs with the best content and a million links to your stuff in the world but it is the value that YOU offer that matters the most.
Your blog is full of great information and provides a lot of value. Thanks!
