
OK. So when people think Social Networks/Media most people start the list in their head with MySpace, then go to Facebook, maybe Twitter and so on….the truth is MySpace was something a year ago, two years ago, maybe even a bit 6 months ago.
But the social media has evolved. One more time.
Today, it’s all about Facebook and Twitter.
So what happened? And where do we go from here?
MySpace really started exploding about 2 years ago among network marketers. It was all about creating this MySpace page that would attract likeminded people. They would like what they would see in your story, your pictures etc., add you as a friend, and go on to maybe even become a lead for your business.
Once you created a well structured page with good content, it was like opening a retail store: once it’s ready and opened, not much changes. You advertise, you ask other “friends” to come and visit your store (you page) and the cycle begins. Once it was all written, there were no more many things that needed to be changed, or added and so on – it was very much static.
Today’s social media is very different.
Today, if you’re still on MySpace, spending a lot of time waiting for the “friends” to add you, you’re going to flat out “die” there. Social media has grown up into this versatile, completely transparent, not just two-way, but multiple-way, interactive party.
You get to tell your story, who you are, and what you’re all about through live, seen-by-millions-of-people-instantaneously comments. This is the place where you have to personally network and put your best foot forward to differentiate yourself from the crowd.
Once you establish yourself as a credible “followee”, your market value will rise proportionally and the masses will follow you and your links all the way to the bank.
